De Ligt – Berge – Dumfries feature in Man United news now

Here is a roundup of the latest transfer news and gossip for Manchester United that we think you guys could have missed today –

Rene Meulensteen has claimed that Bayern Munich star Matthijs de Ligt could prosper at Manchester United if he completes the move to the Premier League this summer.

Over the past few weeks there has been alot of transfer speculation in the media that Manchester United are closing in on a deal for De Ligt after the decision was made by Bayern Munich to allow him to leave the club this summer.

It has also been claimed that the Dutchman is keen on a move to Old Trafford – to work with Erik Ten Hag – and it has also been claimed that Man United are prepared to pay £43 million in order to get a transfer deal done.

Now According to the many reports in the media, Ten Hag has already spoken to De Ligt about a potential move to United and has outlined his plans for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

And with Leny Yoro’s injury only making their defensive predicament more desperate, and Bayern’s Mattijs de Ligt appears a good fit for Manchester United – and former assistant boss Rene Meulensteen believes the Dutchman could thrive at United.

“Matthijs de Ligt can reach his potential in the Premier League,” he told Boyle Sports. “He is a player who suits the division. He is strong and powerful, and it helps that Erik ten Hag knows him.

‘De Ligt was flying at Ajax when Ten Hag was there, and he was one of the best players in Holland.

“I think the move to Juventus didn’t quite work, and his career stalled at Bayern Munich because they might not think he is good enough on the ball. But United need strengthening and he will do that at centre back.”

BIG DUMFRIES BOOST –

It has been claimed that Denzel Dumfries does not want to sign a new contract at Inter Milan amid reports that Manchester United are interested in a deal for the right-back.

It is no secret that both Manchester United and Chelsea have been very interested in trying to get a deal done for the Dutchman over the past few seasons, and with both looking to improve the right-side of that defence – both are once again interested.

The right wing-back has no intention of entering negotiations at the San Siro until the transfer window has closed, according to The Athletic. This will appeal to United, who will be in need of a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka if the West Ham target leaves Old Trafford

The defender recently admitted his dream to play in the Premier League – He was quoted on Sky Sports: “I think my future is still here, yes. Inter is a great club and I am in love with it, I really feel at home here, like family. We’ve been discussing my contract renewal for a while now, but the club had some economic difficulties.

“As everyone knows, there has now been a change of ownership. During the Euros or even after, we’ll see what happens.

“It is no secret that I would like to play in the Premier League, as I love that league and my style of play is suited to the English game. But I am blessed from God by being able to play for Inter, where I won six trophies in three years. As I said, this is my home and my family is happy in Milan,” continued Dumfries.

“I could never leave Inter just to make a ‘dream’ come true. My blood is Nerazzurri, this is my family! I don’t want to leave.”

Will Dumfries leave Inter?

If he cannot agree a new contract at the club he may have to leave. And if that happens, he could be a brilliant addition to either Chelsea or Manchester United.

SANDER BERGE MOVE MADE –

It has been claimed that Manchester United have made contact with Burnley over a potential deal for midfielder Sander Berge.

Ugarte, 23, joined the French club from Sporting last summer after spending the previous two-and-a-half seasons in Portugal. He moved to Europe from South America as a teenager, months after debuting for the senior Uruguay side

Talks  United and Paris Saint-Germain about a move for midfielder Manuel Ugarte have been going on for weeks – but the Red Devils have not been able to wrap up a deal for the midfield star.

But if Man United cannot complete the signing of Ugarte – it has been claimed that Burnley will allow Berge to leave the club this summer if there £30 million valuation is met by the Red Devils, or any other club.

The Old Trafford club are already understood to have made contact with Berge’s representatives, And the Clarets, following relegation from the Premier League, would be willing to sell the 26-year-old holding midfielder.

SunSport understands that Manchester United would be prepared to pay £20m for the player signed for £12m from Sheffield United a year ago, but Burnley, now bossed by Scott Parker after Vincent Kompany took over at Bayern Munich, would hold out for £10m more.

They are under no pressure to sell given that they have a £100m parachute payment to rely on.

Berge, big mates with star international team mates Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard, has become a surprise alternative target following Old Trafford’s refusal to meet PSG’s valuation of £51M for Uruguayan Manuel Ugarte.

Berge is a very good player that has proven himself in the Premier League – so if Man United get the man – they could be getting a very good player for not alot of money.
